Oregano is an aromatic herbaceous and bushy plant. Its most widespread use is, of course, spice in cooking, but it also has excellent medicinal properties.
It has a high content of vitamin C, fiber, iron and beta carotene and has a slightly expectorant, antibacterial, antioxidant, antidiarrheal, bactericidal, anti-inflammatory, and anti-erosive properties.
It is considered to aid in intestinal and stomach disorders (especially in gastric atony) and diarrhea. It is used in cases of flu, colds and to treat the inflammation of the throat.
