Peppermint Essential Oil Production
The yield of Peppermint essential oil can reach 8 liters per hectare. It mainly depends on the cultivated variety, the soil, the prevailing climatic conditions and the cultivation practices.
The cultivation of mint for receiving essential oil began in Greece in 1956. The first trial cultivation plantation was established in an area of 90 acres of the Aliartou Agricultural Research Station (Kopaida). In the following years, mint is also cultivated in other regions of the country.
