Apiganos – Ruta graveolens

Is a small evergreen shrub, with a height of less than one meter and has been known since ancient times for its healing properties and as the plant that was an antidote to poisoning.

Is used against hysteria and epilepsy. It is also used against vertigo, nervous headache, amoebae and other intestinal parasites.

It acts as an antispasmodic, antitussive. But mainly as an emmenagogue since it stimulates the muscles of the uterus and causes the menstrual flow. Relieving spasms makes it useful in stopping whooping cough.
